The National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) was launched in April along with new resources.

The NVBLQ complies with the International Life Saving Federation beach competency framework. It will be offered by all three organisations and is endorsed by the National Water Safety Forum and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

The NVBLQ will be recognised and promoted by RLSS UK, SLS GB, SLSA Wales as the national standard for vocational beach lifeguarding.

The NVBLQ course is a minimum of 40 hours long followed by a practical assessment on beach theory, life support, first aid, swimming pool practical and open water practical.

Become an Open Water Lifeguard

New for 2016 – Open Water Lifeguard training.

Thanks to celebrities such as David Walliams, open water swimming has had a major surge with streams of people plunging into inland waters across the UK. In order to keep our nation of open water swimmers safe, RLSS UK has launched a brand new bolt-on module to our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NLPQ).

I want to be an Open Water Lifeguard!

For our NLPQ qualified lifeguards, the course is a six-hour module award that will build on existing skills and knowledge and prepare them for the open water environment. Lifeguards will be assessed on their confidence and ability in open water and by the end of the course, will be able to supervise and provide rescue during controlled activities, such as triathlons and adventure races in non-tidal waters.

Book your place now via our course finder or call 01789 773994.
